The identities have been released for both a male employee at a popular Westchester restaurant who was stabbed to death late Tuesday morning and a female co-worker who has been charged with murder.

The suspect in the incident at River City Grille on Route 9 in Irvington, identified by Irvington Police as 27-year-old Rosa Ramirez of New York City, who was recently hired as a dishwasher at the restaurant, has been charged with murder and was arraigned Tuesday afternoon.

The man, Yonkers resident Bonifacio Rodriguez, 39, was reportedly stabbed multiple times around 11:30 a.m. and was rushed to Westchester Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:19 p.m.

Irvington Police say they responded to the kitchen area of the River City Grille where they discovered Rodriguez unresponsive and bleeding from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds.

It was Irvington's first murder since Jan. 17, 1974 when a 41-year-old housewife was stabbed to death by an 18-year-old man on Havermeyer Road.

Police were called to the restaurant at 6 S. Broadway after the attack and took the woman into custody.

Details regarding the incident have not yet been released and the investigation is ongoing.

Ramirez was remanded to the Westchester County Department of Correction pending her return to the Village of Irvington Justice Court on Monday, April 16.
